Hi, I have recently purchased a 1965 Oliver 1850.
I'm having problems with the hyrda power when going from hi to low. Most of the time (but not always) when pulling out the hyrda lever to low it will act as if it goes into neutral. If I push the clutch in for 2 to 3 seconds I can hear it engage and when letting the cluth out it works fine again. When going from low to high it always works good and it does not slip in hi or low.
I have changed the filter and made sure the fluid level is up.
Any suggestions would be helpfull!

thank you,

I bought an Oliver 1750 with hydrapower that did exactly the same as yours. I changed the oil to universal hydraulic oil and installed a 30-3475425 filter. Never failed in low range after that. I ran it for 6 or 7 years that way. Yours may be worn more than mine was.

Low range is engaged through a one way over running sprag type clutch. It is worn. If you are using it now for spring farming it will not hurt to run it in direct only or in low when it works. More questions?J.
