How do you stop a loader from bouncing on the down stroke? Is it all in the adjustment of the retrictor valve? What happens if you remove the restrictor?

Don has given you most of the basic facts. Remember when you have a load on the loader it now becomes the pump so to speak. You will caviate the hydraulic cylinders that way. You need to restrict the flow on the lower side. Also see post on loader valve. J.

To stop the bouncing screw in the restrictor. I had to do this on our 18 for the springtooth we have because it bounced really bad. Now it goes down really smooth and I don't bother resetting the restrictor when not using it. Still works fine.
