A month ago a person asked what the color was for the wheels on a '39 Oliver 70. I said that I thought red was the correct color on most of the "39 models. I was called everything from: #1 I don't know what I'm talking about or, #2 a liar.

If anyone has time , pull up E-Bay items #150115696626 and/or # 190106546836. Both of these tractors have the 40 inch orginal cast wheels with the de-mountable rims, and what looks to be the orginal paint.

I do not know the people that have them for sale and I don't know anything about the tractors, except what I see.

Yes, plenty of 77s and 88s with the white paint around here. Thats about the only way I see them anymore. Somewhat disappointing as I like original tractors.

I'm not sure about the 70. Probably all kinds of paint jobs like with the Fleetlines.

KIETH,

You need to calm down here.

Go back and read the original post.

No one called anyone a liar.

BLANE.

I too posted to that thread. I really don't recall anyone calling anyone any names. I searched old advertising records and couldn't find anything with red until mid 1940. I'm NOT saying there wern't any though my 1937 had green wheels.
It looks like both the machines your talking about do have red wheels....still dosen't change my mind though

Yea,there were a lot of fleetlines around here with white wheels and grills and even more John Deere As and Bs with a yellow stripe down the side of the hood after the 520s and 620s came out. Keeping up with the neighbors.

I think I responded to that post myself and just told what I know, that I have an original 39 70 and the cast centers are green and the rims are red. If somebody has one that is different,oh well,it's different.
