I was wondering what a burned Coop tractor might be worth that was in a barn fire

HK: My little familiarity with CO-OPs and their descendants is all on paper, but if you haven't already considered it the Custom club members may well be interested in whatevers left. I have no idea if what you have would match any of the descendants, but it'd be a shame if it didn't get into the hands of someone who needeed or wanted it. Good luck.

Ahh, I stand corrected; thank you (couldn"t find my foreign word dictionary-should"ve thought to Google it!). What little German/Austrian my mother passed on was verboten when WWII started. Not that she passed much on; the thinking then was an old-country language made you sound like an immigrant, quite often looked down on. I do recall an expression she used often; loosely phonetic, it"s "Ober hooey, Unten pfooey", supposed to mean nice on the outside, dirty underneath, or: change your underwear!!

I never correct anyone on the boards unless they give an indication that they wouldn't mind knowing what the correct spelling, usage, etc. is. Seems to work out fine that way. As to language and immigrants, I had to smile when you mentioned the oldtimers not wanting to sound like immigrants- My ancestors were the same. My granddad was about 5 when they came, and once they hit US shores, no more Deutsch spoken in the house. Result was that he spoke without any trace of an accent. Nobody was worried about preserving their "culture" back then- they just wanted to fit in.

There were a number of CO-OP models, real and ertzatz (ertzaz?) with different running gear; most are collectible, some more than others, and if a right model, a number of collectible descendants that could use salvageable parts, so depends on what model it is (was?) and what's left (and if the right parts, who's looking for them at the moment!)
