I"m in the finishing stages of my first rebuild project, and the first tractor I"ve ever owned, a 1948 88 RC gas. Had it sandblasted down to bare metal, did a little body work, ground it down good, then Cross Fire primer and acrylic enamel. Got my rear rims painted last night. All I have left is a little touch-up on the green, then guages, wiring, and a little assembly. I"m getting close now!
When I took "er apart, there was a white nylon tie through the slots in the right and left side yellow grill pieces and holding it to the post below the nose. Now I took "er apart in November and cant remember exactly how it lined up. As I look at pictures of similar tractors, it seems like most of em have the red trim piece with "Oliver", and "88" that separates the right and left sides of the yellow grills. My tractor didnt have that when i got it, and I"m just guessing the nylon ties were not standard equipment in 1948 when those good people made my baby!
Im wondering if somebody could email me a close up picture of the nose and grills of an 88, so I can see if I"m missing something.

I just ordered stuff from Korves yesterday, including grill screen and bar, I guess I'll have to call and order the trim piece. I hope that pulls it all together for me. There was no screen or bar when i took it apart.
Thanks
