Looking at an oliver 1755 diesel. What problems did they have and what should I look for. I am not real familiar with that model.

The one I am referring to as being hard on fuel is a diesel also.

i've used a 1755 for many years now. the previous post said they might be a little hard on fuel. I am guessing he is referring to a gas burner, because my diesel is very efficient. there are some that will say to stay away from the 310 engine, but this tractor is natually aspirated so isn't subjected to the heat and stresses that you find with an 1855 or 1955. the only trouble i've had with mine are leaking oil lines (near hyd. pump and behind dash). also, they are meant to run, idling around may lead to incomplete fuel combustion and slobbering around exhaust manifold. this isn't exclusive to oliver though. all in all i am very satisfied with my 1755 and never intend to part with it.

I use one to cut and condition hay, as well as to bale hay. They are a pretty decent tractor. Ours has a brand new muffler and it is still pretty loud. Have to where ear muffs in it even with a cab. It has a new head and block in it also, the person we bought it from forgot to winterize the block, had straight water in it and it froze, block and head cracked. there are still alot of parts available for this model yet. I think that they are pretty hard on fuel though. all in all I think you would be pretty happy with it.
