Thanks to Don-wi and rrlund and the other for helping with my clutch and carb questions. I rebuilt the carb which was pretty gunked up on the bottom of the float bowl. Runs great so far. I'll adjust the clutch per Dons instructions - huge thanks for taking time to type that out (some people would say "buy a manual" or "search the archives"). I'm hoping that buys some time before replacement. I was relieved to hear it doesn't need to be split so I should be able to do it myself. The tractor is my BIL's and the problems I already fixed were encountered after I took it to the shop I do my repairs in. Seems he hit a rock frozen in the ground while pushing his manure pile together. So far I've got 6 hrs into straightening and welding the 1609 loader. Good thing the clutch was slipping or he probably would have torn the loader right off. Anyway, hats off to you guys. If you ever go to Manitowoc, WI call me out on the "tractor talk" board - I owe you a cold drink!

No problem. I just always hope to get back what I give out. I just speak from experience with 6 Olivers around here and more than that that have passed through here over the years. If I'm ever in the neighborhood,I'll take you up on the offer. Same goes for you if you're in the mid Michigan area.

Didn't know you were so close!! I'm in Kaukauna, and my fiance goes to Lakeland college over in Sheboygan. I've ogt a brother that lives in Plymouth too. Can't say I'm in manitowoc all too often but I may be going to the fair this summer...Thought I heard Steve Holy is playing there- He sings our song, Good Morning Beutiful....

I'm glad to hear my carb advice worked out. Hopefully that saved you some money.
