I was wrong and you are correct, Oliver did build a 400 series cultivator for a few years. After I posted that answer I knew something was wrong, but didn't give it much thought until your post. I will not say where I had my head when I answered the question yesterday, but I will say what I was thinking. And it all has to do with green paint once again. In the early 80's I had a Oliver tractor that I wanted a cultivator for. In the area farm paper was listed a Oliver cultivator for sale. I went to see it, and I knew right away that it wasn't an Oliver, and I didn't think it was a John Deere either, even though it was painted green, and the paint was orginal. The owner though it was a Oliver, but after I talked to him awhile he changed his mind. The owner and I then went over that cultivator almost with a fine tooth comb and discovered the teeth were what we thought to be orginal. The teeth had the Case eagle imprint on the backside. After I came home I did some checking, and found out that in the 40's and 50's Case had painted their cultivators as well as their tillage tools green. I also know Case built their own 400 series cultivators, and John Deere also built their own 400 series cultivators. That is why I said in my orginal post that he should find out what brand the cultivator is, because I knew Oliver didn't build a cultivator with the 461 designation. Sorry for any wrong information. I would have been be better off if I had looked up the information instead of trying to go from memory.
