I noticed in a post a few pages back that you are putting together a list of mist green 880s. MY serial number is 73806-873. If you would like more info drop me an e-mail. [email protected]

Thanks for the response. I've added your S/N to the list I started back in the mid 90's. There are about 30 tractors on the list. I plan on having more info for the owners this year. BLANE.

P.S. I put your e-mail in my file.

Schrocky,

No, the color I'm refering to is called "MIST" green. The normal green is "MEADOW" green. Oliver had this hair brained idea to paint the 880's a lighter shade of green starting with the first helical transmission model on JAN.23,1959. After 5 days of production the plant went on strike for over a month. By the time the workers returned in March, management had come to their senses and the MIST green program was history. But it does make for a highly collectable tractor as few survived that did not get repainted, and now that the serial number range is known it will be hard to "pirate" one without an original serial number tag.

P.S. I saw the big sale bill for your dad's tractors and noticed some 660's listed. Are you going to sell the 660 that you needed the serial number info for?
