Guys, the 1-64 stamped in the machined surface where the fuel tank mounts is the month that the engine was assembled at Waukesha

All of the above (below) and since the number under the fuel tank support is 1-1964 I'm gonna say the block was cast on DEC 5, 1963.

The most interesting one is the right side front. Is it a stamped number on a cast flange. The other 3 deal with the casting. 1253 is the casting date. The 104 is the Oliver Casting number. The 185 is the Waukesha casting number.

Memory is starting to fade here and I got my little book out this morning. It is a 1964 tractor without seeing the serial number. The closest engine number I have for a tractor that was sold where I was employed to that is 59455 which was on an 1800 delivered in late spring/early summer of 64. I was guessing it was the engine number as well but could not remember that they were that high of a number that early.J

I would venture to say that the number on the right front is the stamped Waukesha serial number for that engine.
