Any difference between 770 lifters and 88 lifters. I ask because my 770 lifters don"t look so good, but I have some very good 88 lifters. My service manual seems to imply they are the same but thought I"d double check with you guys. Chris

G1,G2,G3 series engines use the H-201 lifter, G4 series engines and up use the M-201 lifter. The series designation should be at the beginning or end of the Engine serial number which is stamped on the crank case in the lower rear right hand corner next to the bellhousing. In other words if your engine is earlier it will have the 60 style lifter and if it's a later engine it will have the 77 style lifter, which will be the same as the 770. So you need to look at the serial number on your 88 engine. Or compare them to be sure they are the same size.

Not all 88 tractors used the same lifter. If the diameter is the same they are the same, If they are still in a block tell me the Oliver block casting number and I can tell you.
