Hi, I need some more info on my Oliver. The operators manual specifies auto trans tyoe A fliud for the over/ under shift drive. what is the recommended replacement in today's terms. One tractor mechanic told me to use the same universal fliud sa the rest of the hydraulic system. Thanks for all of your help previuosly and now.

The true conversion for type A is Dexron/Mercon III ATF fluid. White switched over to useing hydraulic oil in them, so either one would be fine. Just don't mix them.

Later production tractors with the over/under used White universal hydraulic oil in the o/u. I personally use AGCO universal hydraulic oil in all my over/unders. It is best to also use the better 30-3475425 filter.

You can still find type F which is what I run in my 1755. But dextron 3 will work fine.
