77--88 Manifold ???

I am being told that a gas 770 manifold will fit on a 77 and an 88. In seem to recall that the 77 manifold is shorter than an 88. Am I correct or did I read my tape wrong about 7 years ago?

The 77 manifold is about a one half inch shorter than a 88. Port size is also smaller.

whole 77 engine is shorter than 88s,you put a 88 in a 77 and the engine hits the gas tank where if you look on your 77 it has daylight.
