Cracked 1800 head questions, long and boring......

Okay, my predicament, with questions to follow....

My brother got an 1800 Ollie diesel with coolant seeping out of the head gasket. Has the head pulled and sees that it is cracked, bad valves and guides, the works.
Now some questions from me.
Is this the head that cracks and you simply reinstall it and use it or are the cracks fatal?
Is this the head that has the valves ground at a special angle or is that some other head I"m thinking of?
Is this the engine that has different series and I need to know which one it is to find a replacement? (My brother told me that this is a two-piece head with an upper and a lower section, if that helps)
Final question: If I need one, where do I find one? Local places are not finding any replacements.
FWIW, I"ve not seen any of this. He"s having a shop do this and he passed the results on to me. I have not talked to the machinist.
Thanks in advance.

There used to be a mostly Oliver salvage yard in Colfax Ia called Lind Imp. They sold out several years ago though. There is also Colfax Tractor Parts that is pretty big. There is another big yard near Iowa Falls Ia. I'm restoring a "60" and there is a place in Ohio called Maibach Tractor. They seem to have everything on hand to build a 60 from scratch when it seems like no one else can even order anything. I'll bet Maibach would probably have or know where to find what you need. Just Google Oliver tractor parts and they will show up. Hope this helps.
