I have hercules engine in a military truck and I am trying to convert it over to a spin on type oil filter. Trying to get oil pressure sooner then it does now. Anyone know where I can buy the oil filter adapter from a oliver/ herc engine? Or does anyone have a couple for sale?

Thanks

Here's a picture of the M35A2 truck. It had the 427 cid multi-fuel engine. These trucks were banned in Germany do to excessive smoke when in a convoy. They purchased the German MANN diesel trucks and they had very little smoke. Hal

You can call Kraftpower at 1-888-282-7297 or 1-800-537-2371 to see if they have an adapter. You will need the model number and serial number from the engine. Is this in the old Half Track vehicle? Hal

I thought they used Continental engines in those trucks. We tested them at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Most of them had the multi-fuel engine in them. Hal

The engine was designed by Continental. Hercules got the contract to build them and yes they were also made as a multi-fuel engine.

Back in late 1960's these trucks were banned in Germany do to the excessive exhaust smoke. We ran drawbar pull on these using three different fuels. There was a 5 ton truck too. Here's a picture of the M7 Heavy Field Dynamometer we used
for drawbar and cooling tests. Hal
