I need a Transmission Input Shaft for an Oliver 88 rowcrop. The tractor i'm working on is a later model 53/54 I'm not sure. There is no evidence of a tag on the right side of the trans/final drive case. I have been unable to find it on the rear hood support either. My parts book gives two part numbers 1K 616 and 1K616-A. The A suffix says it is for an 88 with hydraulics, which mine has, But the Serial no. range has me confused , since it goes into the 888 range. My Information falls into the best guess categoy Which shaft do I need, and where can I get it? Normally I work on John Deere This is my first dealings with Olivers since 1955 when I spent a Summer operating one, never thinking I would get involved in repairing one. Oh well I shoulda paid attention when I was 13 I guess.

I bought a new after market one through my AGCO dealer for about half of AGCO price.I think it was A&I agg parts here in IA.Most tractor dealers can get these after market parts.

You will be fine with The K616A shaft. The K 6161 is longer because the gear that would run a mechanical lift is attached to it behind the bearing. More questions? J.
