Oliver side curtains

I have an Oliver 77 RC with side curtains. I will be restoring it this winter, and I need some advice on preparing the sheet metal before painting. The side curtains are complete, but there are numerous bends and dings especially on the louvers. What is the best way to straighten this sheet metal back to the original? (individual dings and dents I can remove, but it is impossible for me to get the louvers straight and parallel.) I have thought of taking it to an auto body shop, but I thought I would ask you guys first.

Also, the lettering on side panel is painted on the sheet metal. I would like to have this recreated as closely as possible. Any ideas on this - sign painter, or am I stuck with using decals? Any hints on how to make sure that the lettering is same as original after the panel has been sandblasted?

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

The lettering on the Oliver tractors was a Decal (called a transfer in the parts book). The decals are available from Lyle & Helen Dumont at Sigourney, IA Ph. 515-622-2592. They also have a wonderful collection of some 80 - 100 Olivers in their meuseum.
Most generally you are better off purchasing reproduction doors. They are available from Lynch Farms Eaton, OH 937-456-6686

I have had good luck on the side curtain louvers by laying up a jig out of wood to hold the streight part streight and grinding the ends of pieces of hard wood to use as punches and pounding the dints out. This is not a fast job, it takes a lot of time. I also use an small ajustable cresant wrench to pull louvers back. Small dints I use a block of wood on the back side and a steel punch or ground to proper shape steel bar the don't over do it with a hammer.
