I have a 2150 FWA that needs a Hydraul-Shift. I bought the tractor with the hydraul-shift not working. When I took the side plate off I found it had been gutted and had a straight shaft put in it. Will a hydraul-shift out of any other tractors, such as a White 2-135 or 2-155 work in my Oliver?

did the plate you removed have the shift leaver and oil filter on it...if it did not it was probably ordered without the over/under from the factory as they had to use the empty housing with a straight through shaft to utilize the trunion mount...there were quite a few here in northwestern ohio ordered that way

A Over/under out of the 2-135 will work and early 2-155. You will have to change the rear trunion mount. Just about any over/under will work if you have the front bell housing and the rear trunion mount convert it. The mount contains the Overdrive piston and may need a different external lube line. The newer 2-155's and all 2-180's have a little larger over/under for the increased HP. At some point the planetaries for the overdrive change from a straight tooth design to a helical design. I would think the bigger tractors should be helical for the increased power and more strength. Have fun with your 2150. We have one and you feel like you're driving a tank.

I don't think that any of the over/unders had helical planetary gears unless I misunderstood what you meant. The first major change was what was called the super over/under. I was gone when that change was made; I'll have to check on that. The heavy duty over/under came out in the 4-225. There was also the shallow and deep dump versions.
