OK, here is my latest toy in my toy box. It finally got warm enough today to wash off the salt from it being hauled, and now I can get teh sheet metal off and do some painting and decaling.

Now can anyone figure out what it is. It is not painted correctly, but it is an Oliver and it is supposed to be green and white. Any ideas??

Nice Oliver! I was a little surprised to hear that the engine is a 504. I have a 2655 with the same engine and it does not have a turbo... never did (mine, that is...). Do I recall properly, did you have an Oliver with a 6 cyl. Cummins at Dover this past summer? (I had the little red Oliver 1255 FWA at Dover) I have a Cummins 270 Super in great shape that needs to go in something....how much conversion to put in in the 2655? That new Oliver will look pretty slick with new paint and new tires! The 504 has a nice sound to it too! Cal

Yeah, I had the 1655 with the Cummins engine in it at Dover this past year. You were about two rows behind me on the same end (at least your tractor was)

I have never messed with a 270 Cummins, what liter is that engine?? The 2655 should be a pretty easy repower project, there is tons of room in the belly of that thing to put an engine in.

Thanks for the comments, I am going to have fun with this new tractor....

Well there are only 210 Oliver 2155's and the 2055's aren't far from that number. My step dad Larry Klingler has 2 2155's. The Oliver colors on these Minnie's are definetely rare. Have fun wiht it. I'll have to do some checking when I get a chance.

Yeah, I remembered you had that narrow front 2155 that you pull. If you have any numbers or info on these tractors I would surly love to have some.

I did get the Turbo mounted up on my G-1355 with the 585 engine like yours and it sounds and runs sweet. Cant wait to get it in the field this spring.

Thanks for all the help

Our 1855 loader tractor is down and 1750 both with water in the oil. I'm in the process of putting a Cummins in our 2-105. Just have to finish the mounts and get the little things figured out. Wait till you hear the G-1355 bark under load when plowing or chopping. There is no other sound like it. I'm curious, does the 2055 have a 2 or 3 spd amplitorc. Our 2155's have the 2 spd. Right now I'm having fun with our first child, a little boy that is one month old, So tractors are second right now. I'll try to get you some more info. when I get down to the farm this Saturday.

You are right that is a Moline with a Oliver paint job. I was told that only a total of 78 tractors were built that way. That includes the 1865, 2055, and 2155. The Moline book I brought said Moline stopped with accurate records when things were moved to Charles City. So I did not get much for $29.95. Just some very good pictures and history of early Moline.

Cool, I would love to know how many of the 2055s were made, I dont think it was many. I may try to get the build card on this tractor, it was built at Charles City according to the serial plates, so they should have the card on it.

Do you suppose they just pulled some of the G-1050 Molines off the production line and painted them green?? I just wonder why there is yellow piant under the green paint on this tractor.

Maybe a previous owner wanted a yellow tractor and painted it that way, who knows..

About 10 years ago our local White dealer had one of these 2055's that he was going to turn into a heavy duty forklift. It had an Oliver serial number tag on it and the serial number was not in the range with the serial number list I had. It had a way different number that started with an X. There was yellow paint under the green on this one too and I thought maybe it was something special. I told him he was going to screw up a pretty rare tractor but he didn't care. This dealer sold out a few years ago. I could try to find out what happened to the forklift if anyone is curious.

Looks like a 1865 Oliver built 69 to 71. If it was a M&M it would be a G950

my guess is a 2055 or a 2155 .If it was a 1355 it would have oliver rear end. yours is all moline G1050 or G1350.There are two types of paint and decal and logos for this animal. Each example was a Dover Ohio this past summer.

Yes, I think you are right, there are two different ways to paint this tractor. But I "think" from what I have seen that the tractors that had the flat front nose like this are supposed to be painted like an Oliver with the white side shields. If it had the Moline style bubble nose it would be painted the way it is. At least that is what I have seen in books.

And you are right it is a 2055 Oliver.

Shep. Yes the flat nose would have the oliver keystone on the front and the metal white side spears on the side. The hood sides should be all green. Your tractor is the newer style but painted like the older style. unless the nose was changed. It is a neat tractor, good luck with it.

Thanks, that is what I thought too. I bought some name plates off of a 1955 that I need to paint up for it and I need to pull the hood and paint it the correct way. I want to keep this one very origional as there are not too many of these left.

Are there holes in the side panels for the name plates? If not perhaps it didn't have them in the first place and the grill has been changed like rp1555 suggested, or maybe it is a transitional tractor. At any rate I would check the serial number to establish what year it is before doing anything with a drill. I'm with you it should be done as accurately as possible to keep it original. There couldn't have been more than a handful of these made. Have fun!!!

Yup the holes are in the sheet metal on the sides for the name plates. There are also holes in the sheet metal on the G-1355 MM of mine for Oliver name plates.

I am very sure it is a 1971 Oliver 2055. It has the Oliver tags on the side and engine and under the model number on the Oliver serial tag it is listed as a 2055. I need to get the entire serial number and see if it lines up anywhere.

I"m guessing a 1971 model 2055 or 2155. Leaning towards the 2155 since I know you like the big boys and that thing is knee deep in rear rubber.

Those are some cool rear tires arnt they?? 23.1 x 30 rear tires, almost wider than they are tall. Those are shot too, so I will have to put new shoes on it sometime this summer, dont know if I will change the size or not. Maybe go with 23.1 x34s ?? Now that would be a BIG tire on that tractor....

Yup, it has the Oliver serial tag and model number on it.

You are right j meyer, it is a 2055 Oliver. Basically a G-1050 with green paint. If you look close at it you can see some yellow coming through the green too, so it used to be yellow at some point.

I think it is even more rare as it does not have a turbo from the factory. I thought all the 504 engine G-1050s had a turbo, but I guess some did not. Really neat tractor.

Shep: I think only the 504's in the A4T1400 had the turbos. As you probably know or at leat the couple we had around had M & W right on the castings so you know where it came from. If you think about it Lanova heads, turbos and heavy duty farm type tractor work seam to have some high dollar issues. It is a rare tractor. J.

This tractor came out of Kansas. I kind of lucked up on it and delt with the guy back and forth for about a week before we settled on a price. It is in real good shape, the engine starts and runs real good, it has 3300 hours on it and everything seems to work. It needs new brakes, and some wiring work around the dash. I put some paint and tires on it and it will be good to go.

Oh I have wayyy too many tractors now,(just ask my wife) but I cant help myself, i find good deals on cool tractors... you know how it is....

I have been trying to keep them under a dozen tractors and I sold an International tractor last year when I got to 12, but this one puts me up to 12 again. I am going to have to build another building to put them in if it keeps going like this, or heaven forbid I may have to sell another one...

I think there is still an Ih or a massy that I could get rid of before I had to sell an Oliver :-)
