Hello! From 1987 until 1990, I was a Seabee Construction Mechanic stationed at Port Hueneme, CA. I used to drive down to the Point Mugu Naval Air Station to attend college classes at night. I would drive along Hueneme road, which took me past some older farmsteads. At one farm, parked outside an older Quonset building was an Oliver 1855 FWA tractor, with one flat front tire. It sat there for three years...and was still sitting there when I left in April of 1990. Just wondering...is it still there? Also, is Schreiner Brother's Equipment still in Oxnard? They were a very good Oliver and White dealership in Ventura County. Have a great day!

I live in Camarillo and work a few miles from Pt Mugu. Olivers are alive and well in the area and there are still farm stands on every other corner. I'd be happy to see if the one your remembering is still out here - just need to know where to begin looking.

The dealer does not sound familiar although it probably preceeds me. We do however have a very active and healthy tractor group. Not too many Olivers, I'm helping that by adding a 950 to the inventory this spring. I have attached a link below.

If you make it out this way this spring you may want to attend the California Antique Farm Show. Its getting bigger every year - I'm guessing around 1000 tractors this year in addition to many trucks and engines.

Good to hear from you,
Gary
