Here it is cold weather again and my 1365 will not lift a hay bale until it is good and warm. Ant ideas? I can bring it my attached garage and in 30 min works like in warm weather. I thought I took care of the problem last year when I change hyd oil, but here we go again. Any help sure is appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. I know since I have no problems in warm weather it has to be an icing problem but seems there should be a way to keep it from icing or rid the oil of water. Surely everyone does not have this problem. I thought changing the oil would take care of it but I guess not. Taking the filter out will not eliminate the freezing problem, will it?

I have had 1 problem with moisture with mine in 32 years, so I wouldn't say it is a common problem. Just change that filter (screen) and see what happens from there. If you keep it outside, put a tarp over it. Make sure water isn't getting in where the transmission safety switch is.

The water in the oil is a common problem with these tractors due to condensation. As for the icing I have thought about putting a heater of some sort in the rear end like a block heater. I certainly would not run it without a filter... Marc

Pull that screen out and see if it is clean. Mine was iced up last year, and wouldn't work worth a darn. You can clean the screen, but sometimes I just throw it away and put a new one in. While you are at it, put some isopropyl dry gas in the fuel if you haven't yet.

I have had similiar issues with mine. I finally had to take the valve off from under the seat and rebuild it. There are a couple cavities in the valve body that build up rust and make the valve stick. I had changed my oil countless times, cleaned filter, even new hydraulic pump before I finally took the valve apart.. If you have a manual taking the valve apart is not bad.... Good luck, Marc

Did you remove all the plugs when you drained the transmisson? There are 2 or three plugs. It is ice that plugs the filter right away. Quick fix, let it plug up and then remove and clean and warm up filter. Best fix, complete change of fluid.
