Oliver 1650 Info.

Looking at purchasing a 1650. It will be used for medium duty. Disc, shredding on 20 acres.

I don't know much about the Oliver 1650 and was wanting some input from ya. Horsepower? Is there anything weak about it (Known problems). Is this a decent machine?

Its used every weekend now for haying and seems to be very dependable. Looks decent. Decent Price $2500.00

Just bought an Oliver 1650 in June 2000($3,000) This my first tractor;Can't tell you very much;It's gas(66hp.)Love the power steering;Handles real nice.Has alot of power;It's really more tractor then I was looking for;But couldn't pass up the price.When I bought it we even drove it home(5mi.)One of the things I don't know about it is if it has down power on the 3-pt.If you know or find out let me know.

We had (and still have) a 1650 gas. Far and away the most reliable, trouble-free tractor on the farm. It also pulls good, and is more nimble than many smaller tractors. Only weakness I can suggest is a tendency for the exhaust manifold to develop cracks.

If it runs good I'd say it's hard to go wrong. The 1650's a good tractor and parts are fairly easy to come by. It's also fairly easy to work on and it's a real grunter for pulling. Drive it and make sure everything's working, then if so snap it up. Some people have all the luck. I wish I could find one in running condition for that price! I've never had an Oliver, though, do maybe some other people could comment on things to look at on it.

The 1650G (gas) engine is a 265 cu. in. Waukesha. The tractor is rated at 66 PTO HP. I have a late model (has Hydraul-Shift) 1650 which I use for some field and loader work but primarily for snow removal. I wouldn't trade it for ANY other tractor, new or old. Up here (northern Wisconsin) a clean 1650 might sell for twice what are you are about to pay. If it were me, I'd jump on that tractor like a tick on a hound dog! Change all the fluids, give 'er a tune-up, and put that tractor to work!

Richard - I believe the 1650 gas engine is (was) a 100% Oliver product. The 1750/1850 gas motors were Waukesha-designed/Oliver-built if I recall correctly...
