Hello guys looked at the tractor it has 4244 hours, 3point, PTO, man said the elect-tronic dash all works, just putting bubbles to radiator pushing out coolet and overdrive doesn't work, and something about the hydrualics not even flow or presure from front to back not quite right. Tires not the best but all are up, with duals and third arm still has com pressor for air conditioning, does 2200 sound like a fair starting price? Can get a engine local for aruond 1K. Thanks for any reply. Boco

Hello Dean and WFE2 the hydrualic pump hasn't been on every long it was a new pump, tires to me are a none mechanical item that can be seen, not like internal parts. With duals that look better than the inside four. I'll plan on keeping it for sometime I'd like to help brother on the farm with it. But someday wuold like to fix a pull type lime bed and pull it with it. Thans Boco

The 4-210 has a gerotor that transfers the lubrication oil from the front trans/differental back to the rear end, that could be the hyd/transfer problem. You might ask more questions about that. WB.

The basic powertrain in these tractors will last 20,000 hours when used in the midwest when properly maintained. The engines seemed to last pretty good when they were not lugged down. You will have minor problems with the over/under and the hydraulics, but that is a buy in my book for that much tractor.

I'd agree. There's a lot of quality iron in that tractor to work with, and an engine swap (in lieu of a rebuild on a 3208) is a pretty economical way to go. Over/Under should be an easy rebuild also especially since you'll be swapping the engine. Tires are a major investment here, but they are probably 18.4-38s which are plentiful on the good used market which is what I would consider if one has to cross that bridge. I wouldn't think you'd go wrong starting at $2200 and even going up to $3k. Anything higher than that, and I would want a bit more info on what is wrong with the hydraulics to make sure that part won't get too spendy. We love our 4-210, a real solid tractor.

Everyone gives me a hard time about my "bald" eight tires on my 4-210, but they hold air and you will almost always run out of power before you'll run out of traction. Tires would be the last worry on the tractor you're looking at, 3208's are plentifull in yards or remans can be had for $5500 or so. And as Dean and WFE said the drive train is very reliable although over/under parts can be alittle pricey. Still that sounds like a good buy.
