Can you imagine this as an annual event for antique and collector tractor enthusists? As I think about how tractor craze has spread over the last few years. There is a tractor ride every weekend in the summer here in the midwest. I sure would like to make this a reality. What would the agenda look like? Tractor Displays, 100s of vendors, information sharing, off-site tours, grand banquet with speaker, national farm broadcasting media coverage, break-out sessions for each of the forums. Each collector club (HPOCA, AC, MM, IH, JD, etc) and magazine could get behind this and advertise it. Please help me answer a few questions then I can get started on a preliminary search for a facility and put paper and pencil to it. 1) Would you be willing to travel to Las Vegas/Phoenix/Dallas/Florida for this event? 2) What month would be best, November - March?
3) What added features/agenda?

It would probably need to be on the west side of the US for me to be able to attend. Vegas would be fine. Facilities in Reno would be significantly less (previous experience). With all the dates to avoid there are only a few left! I would just pick one that works for a facility and see what type of response you get. With enough notice I could come on Christmas....

What's wrong with the Iowa State Fair grounds? Just a thought.

It would be helpful to talk to someone that sets up the Rantoul-half cenutury show, maybe Sherry has contacts, or Darius Harms could be contacted to give insight to setting it up. It would be great to have something in St. Louis to Indy or Evznsville Ind. area. Or springfeild Il. area. Just my guess for midwest. My two sense. Boco in So. Il.

Chad,
Why do you think it has to be in Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Florida, etc? Are you planning on it being outside? That's a long way to haul a tractor for the majority. The sunshine would be nice though.

Check out the HPOCA winter get-together in Coralville, Iowa next week. Great shows can be made in the Midwest.

Definately going to Coralville. A buddy of mine is bringing a load of tractors down Wed morning, a 2nd load on Wed afternoon, and a 3rd load on Thursday morning. He will be a little worn out. We now have 3 buses going on the tour. Should be there early on Thursday to help people set up and make sure we have what we need.

Sounds like a winner to me, Chad! I would LOVE to attend an event like that! It is a monumental undertaking, and I cannot begin to imagine the costs involved. Long story short...somebody would have to be able to make good money on this event, for anyone to consider hosting/promoting/vending/advertising it. Sad reality of the world we live in. I enjoy going to all makes of tractor shows. A comprehensive, all-brands event would be fun! Best wishes!

Travel would be ok in the months of November and December since my job gets me real busy during tax time. Gotta leave hunting season open also.
