My clutch went south the other day when plowing snow. I think I can fix it myself. Has anyone done one? Was it difficult? Anything I should watch for? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!!

Simple job, but Brad has good advice. A manual is a great resource. An I&T is okay, but a reprinted Oliver one is even better - Oliver wrote great service manuals for these tractors and they are available by calling the Floyd Co. Historical Society at 641-228-1099. Also, don't forget to have flywheel resurfaced in order to optimize the life of the new clutch, and this will be a good time to renew any seals such as rear engine main and/or Over/Under that also require engine removal. Manuals should walk you through importance of setting pressure plate (don't assume a rebuilt one is set correctly) and shimming engine for proper alignment with trans. input shaft. Good time to replace sprockets and/or coupler chain as well here if needed. All of this is easy once motor is out.

For starts,a service manual(I&T) and a heavy duty cherry-picker is a must.

Did you locate the parts as in clutch disc, pressure plate,throw-out bearing, and pilot bearing? gas or diesel?
