I believe it is the clutch type stearing as oposed to the planetary type. At least looking at the manual, what I have in the tractor matches the picture of the clutch type unit.

Is that enough info. I'm not too sure what a spot stearing system would look like.

As for thickness I was enquiring how thick the friction material on the bands should be. I'm mucking about in here replacing the cam-rollers (which are shattered) on one side and wondering if I need to replace the bands as well.

I assume that the 90-gl refered to is 90W GL-1 gear oil. That would be easy since I use the stuff in the trans/hydraulics of my Ford 8N

gear oil is correct. Need to replace cams if shattered. if you have out you may as well replace brake linings since their relatively cheap. My advice is to send brake linings to zimmermans. Save alot of hassle than doing it the old fashion way. If you need parts diagrams or anything just e-mail me.
