I just recieved the Jan/Feb issue of the Hart Parr Oliver Collectors magazine, and Chris has done another fine job of putting the magazine together..

I have a comment and a question. There is a two paragraph statement about a Oliver loader that one of the readers has bought. They said there was a OL 150 built. This is not correct.

Oliver built two loaders at the same time. The OL 175 and the OL 200. They were almost the same machine with the exception the OL 175 had a 1.75 (1 3/4) cubic yard bucket and the OL 200 had a 2 (2.00) cubic yard bucket. Also, the OL 200 had a Cummins JT engine avalible that the other one didn't.

This is the first Oliver Loader I have see that is in the hands of a collector. I am glad that another piece of equipment is still in existence.

Now the question. Has anyone ever see, or does anyone know of a OL 175 that is still around? I think it would be something a collector would want also.

That would have been my mistake, and I stand corrected. Thanks for that, and the extra info Oliver Fan.

Guess my memory isn't 100%...

I just happen to be working on a story about the OL loaders right now. I know where there's an OL 200 that they still use in NY. According to my literature, the optional Cummins engine was a JF. Would my literature be wrong?

Most people wouldn't even realize it's an Oliver loader if they saw it. There's probably been a bunch of them cut up for scrap. Obviously Oliver didn't build it but the only ID is the Oliver serial plate in the cab. It was actually a Lorain.

Sherry: Will need to double check but my Cummins model J parts book covers the models: J JS & JT. Will try to look next day or so. J.

Everything I've got shows the JF-6-B1 as the Cummins engine.
