Hi everyone, I'm redoing some electrical components on my 540 and would like some input. My points seem to be burned out, can a set of points still be bought and if so what is the parts number say through Napa or the Agco dealer? Also my tractor is a 1959 model and was converted to 12 volt, I was wondering to switch it back and to use my tachometer, I need an original 6 volt generator, how much are these worth if you can get them? Thanks to all in advance

Find a 12 volt generator with a tach drive on it.
Some Massey Fergursons used them and some IHs.

Your distributor should be a Delco Remy #1111717. Make sure this number matches what is in your tractor. The breaker points for this distributor are Delco number 1911119. Napa should be able to cross these to their number. The 6 volt generator should have been a Delco Remy #1100043. Having the generator number should help in your search. These numbers come from a 1961 Delco Remy Farm Equipment catalog.
