Hey Guys, I need an quick answer to a question I have..... .My 1850 has 18.4x34's on it at the moment. These rims aren't double bevel like on the other large tractors of the same vintage, but rather like a Farmall M, with the stops and wedge clamps. Anyhow, I'd like to run a 38" rear tire because of how low its geared. I've found some double bevel setup up rims(34 center to 38 tire), but I don't know if I can use my current centers with them. Does anyone know? I'd have to buy cast pieces to use them I know, but can I use them with these centers?

Thanks

i changed my whole rims and hubs. i went to a bone yard and got some dual wheel adaptors and got them chiseled to the tapered 1850 wheel axle. i am currently running 20.8-38 right now. the rims are pressed steel and they are centered not like the original dual wheel pressed steel. this was not expensive at all it cost me 500 canadien dollars and i got the rubber, hub, rim and the chiseling. the tractor is lighter and looks alot like a meaner tractor. so far the best investment for this tractor i have made.

Another option would be to swap them with someone who wants 34's and has 38's or see if you can find some in a bone yard. Most boneyards will swap your 34's for some 38's if they have any, but it won't be free. You may even find a tractor that still has good rubber too and be able to swap the whole works.

No, step-ups will not fit a deep-well rim. They are designed only for double-bevel.

These are step up rims, not the blocks..... ..Can I use these double bevel setup rims with my wedge type centers is what I am trying to find out..... .But from what I can see they won't.

I went from 34" to 38" tires on my 1850 last year.

Do your centers look like this?

The used rims I bought were from a Massy and they matched up fine.

Yup, like them..... .....What type of rims did you get? These are step ups, but double bevel. Wish they would work, IMO 34's just aren't enough tire and the gearing sticks..... .

I bought a set of tires on rims with the centers.
Didn't use the centers, or the tires. Used the rims only. Here is a photo of them installed.

We had to raise the fenders up 4" to allow for the height of the bigger tires.

Are those power adjusters? If you got them to work, I wonder why I can't buy the cast blocks and use these rims I've found?

We don't have any Olivers that big in our local yard, so I am limited on options for 38's.

Yep - they are power adjust rims. The 34" that I took off were too, but the calcium got the best of them.

I have the centers from the 38" rims I bought.
They are clearly stamped with M.F.

I used the original Oliver centers though.
