550 service manuel

Does anyone have a parts or service manuel with a parts explosion for the four speed transmission with a shuttle for the 550 or 2-44 tractor. Mine has a bad growl when running in the high speed side of the transmission(3 and 4 gear). I suspect a bad bearing on the counter shaft but have never seen the inside of one. Does the super combined all model service manuel go into detail for this transmission? Any help is appreciated. Dave

Dave, I have the I&T collection of shop/service manuals(O-201)but the 55/550 section doesn't have anything on 4 speed or shuttle shift. It does have an exploded view of the 6 speed though. I don't know where you would be calling from but I have the advantage of an Oliver dealership near me thats a two horse operation but they can answer questions like yours over the phone because they have done likewise for me in the past. Their name is Wright Brothers in Borden,IN. Ph# 812-967-3029. Working on Olivers is about all they have done for many years and can tell me more off the top of treir heads than I learn from a book on the subject.

Dennis, Thanks for the help. If the big service manuel dosen't have it I will have to just rip into it when I get ready and wing it from there. shouldn't be too hard to find a bad bearing. dave
