Hello fellow oliver fans. I'm new to this .. the first time I saw one I fell in love, you know the rest of the story. I recently purchesed an 88d or super 88d minus serial # tag. On the right side of the engine block is the # 956981 any help to distinguish between the two would be appreciated. thank you.

The numbers from behind the starter are 185220B then below those IM100B then to the rear of these and running vertically 61954 these numbers are cast into the block, the numbers in my first reply were stamped numbers. it s a diesel. It has the flat nose. thank you. Garrell

Hate to bust your bubble, but it is a Super 77 engine. I did not see a picture.

Where did you look for a serial number tag? Swing around to the otherside by the starter and get me those numbers. I think you have the engine number and I need to think on that a minute. Gas or diesel?

The quickest was to tell the difference between a super & non-super is to look at the front frame. A super has flat spots with threaded holes on the sides & front of the frame. Stu.
