I was digging post holes with a 9" auger... Now the lever that engages the PTO moves much farther forward than before. The PTO spins some but with little power and I can hear a noise that ain't right.

Any thoughts?

On some of the dry clutch pto's it is common for the clutch forks to be completely worn out with no used ones any good at salvage yards. Eventually they break off so the pto can't be engaged. This happened on my 1550 so I cut the ends off a clutch fork out of a DC Case and welded them in place of the old ones, worked good!

you should take that little cover off the bottom first. see if the set screw came loose and let the clutches come out. had that happen twice.dont have to split it toput back in. a little feness they will go back in on at a time. if you can have some buddy move the lever for you makes it a little easer. put removeable locktighte on allen screw and put anouther one up behind it and it will stay.

Your comment: "Any Thoughts" What model tractor? How much "snap" did it take to throw the clutch overcenter before? If it one you should grease, have you? Remember the PTO drive runs anytime the engine runs. Now: Your comments. J.
