You asked specifically for a 300/350 carb and he replied that he had just the item. So, what steps did you take to ensure he indeed had what you wanted/needed? Did you ask for a model number and picture? Would you have known before hand what you needed, if he had provided the information? I'm going to guess you didn't know and you put your trust in blindly. If you did know but didn't inquire, shame on you. In doing so, you set yourself up to be taken advantage of. The world is full of shisters out to make a quick buck and I think maybe Ed saw you coming.

Of course, it's also possible that he may not have known what he had either, but I'm guessing since he won't make a refund he knew. I'm going to assume that you didn't discuss possibility of a "return" prior to the sale since you must have been convinced it was the right carb.

If you could prove without doubt he indicated he had the correct carb for your application, but he knowingly shipped you something different then you have a case of fraud. It would take alot of legwork to have him prosecuted, at probably more than the $135 you lost.

Post up a pic of what he sent you, include any numbers off the castings so we can see what you have.

Once thats figured out, maybe someone can use what you've gotten and you could sell to recover some if not all your expense. I think you learned an expensive lesson but we can all get something from this.

Our dealing with a reputable parts dealer weve had no problems with getting the right parts. Three years ago our Ohio parts dealer sent us three steering shafts for an 1850 we were working on before it was gotten right. Before that This same dealer had sent and or exchanged three carburetors for an 1850 gasser before we got that old dog running right.
Needless to say this dealer gets all out trade. Energy prices such as they are, we make an afternoon phone call we have part UPSed here following day. Thats service. The kind of service from reputable dealer what keeps us coming back..
Ken's b!tch!ng reads reasonable to me.
