Oliver 77 NOS sleeve set value

My father-in-law has an original 77 sleeve and piston set that his dad bought from Oliver in the early sixties. They are all still in the original box and wrapped in heavy oiled paper. A friend of his wants to buy them, but they aren't sure what a fair price would be. I would appreciate any advice you could offer on this matter.

I recently found a NOS piston/sleeve set for an oliver 70 for $300.

My 2 cents worth> Are they cast iron 3-5/16 bore or 3-1/2 inch bore aluminum Super sleeves and pistons? Are they for a gas or diesel tractor? If they are 3-5/16 inch I would say the value is a lot less.

I see piston and sleeve sets advertised for as low as $217.25 for the 3 3/4 size and $425 for the 3 5/8 size.

The sleeve kits on this forum for the Oliver 77 is over $740.00. To give you an example on how prices have climbed over the years, in 1976 I restored a Farmall A and the new sleeve kit was $80.00 from my local IH dealer. That same kit is now probably $500.00. You could probably get a good price by putting the kit on Ebay. Hal

Korves has the 3 3/4" on sale for 465.53. The 3 5/8 is 418.73.
