At TDC what is your piston height in relation to the top of the block? Were the rods bored to center distance when the rods were reconditioned? Did they do the big end of the rod too? Tolerance on the rods is plus or minus 2. I don't have the dimension you need but if it was me I would take the old head gasket, find the highest piston and a couple of pieces of solder. Lay the solder on top of that piston where th valves would open, put the old head gasket on, torque the head to about 75 pounds and turn the engine over a couple of times, take the head off and measure the height of the solder and see where you are at. Then you have some measurements you can work with. Remember also the pistons will expand and this clearance will be less than what you measured. We had to do that on a Moline once and we were at the minimum and it ran good until you put it on the dyno and put it at rated power for about 45 minutes. Then it "ticked" Sorry I can not be of more help. J.
