As Error 5 said get rid of the Autolite and get a Delco distributor.

Now is the time to make the switch to Pertronix. Get the model number off of your current distributor and get the right Pertronix. I switched my 550 last year with the Pertronix 1142 kit and the non-vibration coil (40000 v) and the tractor runs so much better, and it will even idle slower than manual specs!!
Good luck

Is there a web site? Who do I contact? Thanks for the info. I have an Auto-lite IAD 6001-1B 3k
distributor now.

According to my listing, the IAD-6001-1B will need the Pertronix #1561-P6 for a positive ground 6 volt system. However I would confirm with Pertronix at 909-599-5955 or talk to Bob at Performance Automotive in TN at 239-728-2810.
Make sure that your distributor is in good condition.
Good luck
