If I get time I'm going to change the pump sometime this weekend. I was wondering if the Agco permatran III would be ok to use. It was very expensive, but I was there getting the steel line hopefully repaired I mentioned in my previous post. My only other choice would have been generic hy trans, CNH, or JD in that town. I was using Shell tractor fluid before and the pump in my old tractor seemed to "like" it, but I couldn't get to that town that carries it and I need the tractor going this weekend if possible.

Just a reminder to fill the pump through the case drain port before you install the pump. Questions? J.

I'm holding off a few more days and going to see what happens, don't have much time for it anyway. I am going to use the pump off of my 1855. It is a blue pump, not the standard one but I don't know what kind or anything. It "looks" pretty much the same. I know it is a little higher gpm possibly, will I need to do anything "special" as far as adjustments or anything. I know that it needed some sort of adapter kit to put it on the 1855, but I don't know what was in the kit, most lines look the same size, but the tractors aren't near each other, they aren't moving, and I don't have anything off yet. Thanks. That pump seemed to be very good, never got too hot and quieter.

I would use Hygard from JD or Hytran. There's probably comparable hydraulic oil to these on the market. We have Drydene oil in our area and we used their hydraulic oil at work. Never had any problems with it. Hal

If I would use that oil, would it be OK to switch to something else as long as it says compatible with OEM? Thanks again for the advice....
