Oliver 1800D?

I have found an Oliver with an Oliver loader. The hood sides say 1800 on the metal trim spear, but the engine looks like a direct injection job, either a 283 or 310 Waukesha. I used to have a 1955 and the engine looks like that one more than what I've seen in other 1800s. Could this be original? Iknow there were three series of 1800 but what sets them apart?

The C series started at 134 684-000 they were a good tractor,had improved hydralics,presure lube
trans.and full hyd. steering.Field improvement packages were put on some early series.The inj. nozzels on the 1800 were horizontal,direct inj. were vertical behind ex. manifold.

It is a 283d with about 80.4 hp for the (B)model.You can tell the models by-The (a)gas has a 265 also has a one piece dash and column,and the gas motor has a smaller carb and intake manifold.The number plate has checks in it which has caused this tractor to be called the checkerboard.Also the (a)model has the fuel economy record for gas tractors.The (b)model has a two piece dash with the center being removable and painted white.This tractor and the (c)model are the same to my knowledge with only updates in H.P

A series had the throttle on the steering column with the checker Board decal on the hood side. Jack Streetman who later worked with Purina was the promotion Mgr.for Oliver and was responsible for the design. B series had the throttle moved to the dash side, however the steering column was fixed. The metal spear was added to the hood sides. C series had the tiltable steering column. In addition to engine changes, there are transmission changes. The A & B series did not have a transmission lube pump.
