Yesterday was a blast!!!! Went to Coal Valley, Ill. to Edwards River Antique Tractors Assn. plow day. 1 inch rain the day before, so not a very big turn out. 2 JD A, 1 H Farmall, 1 wd AC and all 2 bottom plows. One of the plows was a JD 2 way plow. Never seen one close up, quite the outfit. Then I looked around and in drives a Oliver 77 with a 2 bottom JD plow. I had to go check it out. The owner said that he had just bot it for $500 and wanted to run it some before he tore it down to restore. He made a couple of rounds and stopped on the end to change pull rope and I was helping him when he said, do you want to drive her? I grinned and said sure would like to.He said that the clutch was slipping a little so only run in 2nd gear. So, I got to run that little sweetheart the rest of the day. I stopped a couple of times and asked if he wanted it back, and he said it looked like I was having too much fun, so just keep going. If the clutch had been good, if would have been the fastest tractor there. Only drawback, I forgot to put new batteries in camera. I got a few good pic's, tried to take some while plowin but only got 1 and batteies died. Thanks to Kieth Felger for a great afternoon. I told him I wish he hadn't let me drive it and he looked at me kind of funny. I got bit hard by the bug and now have to get my 3 bottom plow fixed up and tractor running good enough to take my own rig next time. I felt like a kid again. Yea, it was a GREAT day. We took a 77 to a plow day a few years back with a 3-14 Oliver mechanical lift plow. We struggled with it but were able to have some fun. Those mechanical lifts are not very forgiving. Got a 2-14 IH to go with the 77 now.

If I had another 2 bottom it might be for sale. We are overly gifted with 3 bottoms but only have one 2 bottom.

2 btm's are a very popular item. I'm going to a sale at the end of the month to hopefully find one

Being going to plow days in Ne with my father and 14 yr old son for 3 yrs now, dad has 10 older oliver tractors ranging from 60 up through 99 in there everyday paint. We always take 3 tractors & plows and have a great time but my 10 yr old wants to start next yr so we will be adding one more tractor. Most of the time we have 25 to 30 tractors and a lot of spectators this event is getting bigger every year, What a great time!

Must be a lot nicer soil!. We had 3/4 inch from that storm and you could not walk on it for over a day without it sticking to your shoes.
