I almost went to that auction ( I live by Port Huron and my mom lives south of Lansing). After seeing your description of th tractor I decided that perhaps I should stay home. Glad now that I did. Appreciate you posting the sale price and condition - helps me judge some of the other "buys" out there.

BTW, Berville Auction last Feb, 2-105 white, 5600hrs, everything worked but oil smelled more like diesel than I cared for - $3600. Showed up on the dealer's lot 4 days later with 2 new injectors, asking $6500. Probably went out the door around $6000.

So unless you HAD to have it, a good duck on the 1955.

If you really need an Oliver, Tosch's in Capac (Just off I-69 by Imlay City) has 5 on his lot (2-1600's, 1650, 1855, and I haven't scoped out the last one).

Lessee, I know a "green" dealer with 2 stores in Ingham County who might do this. Found the "red" dealer of I-69 to not be very helpful, top dollar for marginal non-red stuff. The independent down on M52 is sharp but doesn't pretend his stuff is gold plated, reasonabl eprices on highly used stuff. Haven't been to Charlotte in years. Neither of the Fenton guys I haven't dealt with.

Any of those sound familiar?

Local dealer gave me a reasonable price on my Case, quoted my wife $1500 more the next day, sold it to me for the original price and was not happy when my wife showed up with the check.

Yes, the I69-M13 red dealer thinks everything is gold there.
Quit getting equipment there after other local dealers (both NH by the way) would beat them on ave. by $500. Red dealer basically said oh well that is what WE charge.

I would stay far away from the Fenton places, they have P*#@ off a ton of people in the Flint area. All of the New Holland, JD, and CaseIH in the area have had to do work on tractors they have sold to people after promising it was freshened up.

Oh well, heading out for deer hunting for a few days.

Rick

I see people posting auction prices all the time, I figure it helps everyone get an idea of what their tractor is worth, or if they are looking for a similar one.

I have a couple other tractors I am looking at right now, so not a real hurry.

Funny thing you mention about the dealers.... I see a local dealer at almost every auction. Everything they buy it gets the "liquid overhaul" and is on their lot 2 weeks later for $2000+ what they paid. I even have seen them buying the paint at TSC. Won't mention their name, but they are commonly known for doing this. Bad thing is they advertise the tractor as overhauled which is flat out lying.

I havent been by Toschs since April maybe I'll make the trip.

Rick
