What engine did White use in the 4-210 and 4-225 and was there a 4-235? Have a 4-210 with 3208na Cat. Would like to replace engine with something with a little more hp. Open to suggestions. Using on farm, not tractor pulling.Seems I saw a Cummins in a tractor,4wd,new, at a dealer some years ago. Did White us some Cummins engines? TIA jps nw Iowa [email protected]

The White dealer I used to work for in Lebanon IN put a 8.3 Cummins in a 4-210. It was a big project and lots of $$$ but was nice when done. The turbo 3208 would be a lot easier and cheaper to do.

The 2-110 used a 354 Perkins, and was built at the time of the 2-135, 2-155, series 3 which had Hercules and 2-180 which used cat motors. The Cummins came with the 100, 120 140,160, 185 And than the 125,145,170, 195 and so on. I run a 4-210 with a fresh na 3208 and it runs out of hp LONG before it runs out of traction. A turbo 3208 might be just the ticket.

Jerry, as tempting as it is to change motors it is very cost and time prohibitive and can sometimes seem like an impossible project once you get it started. The 4-210 only weighs about 21,000 pounds so you can't hook much more than 210 horsepower to the ground anyway. A turbocharger on your 3208 would wake it up. In all honesty with the price that a big articulated 4wd can be bought, your much better off keeping the 4-210 stock and buying a Steiger, Ford, or a big Versatile, or Big 4890 case or big Massey. They can all be had for a song and most of them are 30-35,000 pound heavyweights that have 300 horsepower. Remember, it takes about 100 pounds per horsepower to hook one of those beasts to the ground properly. Good luck.

Hello, Jerry!
I repowered a 4-210 for a customer in Western Minnesota nine years ago. I installed a brand-new Cummins 6CTA8.3 engine rated at 260 hp. It made a good installation...but was also VERY expensive. One of the problems is that to convert to the Cummins, you will need to replace the first section of the PTO live-power shaft. The shaft/hub assembly costs over $1300 from AGCO. The engine will cost over $12,000 new. Add a clutch and labor, and it gets pricey. If price is not an issue, I would recommend calling Everitt Hunley at Hunley Sales and Service in Austin, Indiana. They do excellent Cummins Re-Power work. If money is an issue, then a turbocharged 3208 will work just fine. You can refit the 4-210 with a turbo Cat, and use 4-225 parts to complete the installation. The 4-210 is a very good machine, and the 3208 Turbo is a very powerful and smooth-running engine. The 4-225 was a very nice machine. Best wishes!

All 4-210s used NA version of 3208 at 210 flywheel hp. 4-225s used turbocharged 3208 at 225 flywheel hp. No 4-235. The 4-225 was the last and largest to use the 3208. The 4-270 and prototype 4-325 used in-line six Cat engines. This would probably be your easiest conversion; have thought about it myself. Turbocharged 3208s are pretty easy to find, and are decent motors; they were used up to 400 hp in marine applications with the right cooling packages and turbo.

Hi Jerry,
I'm no expert, but after White Motors left I think it was White Farm Equipment built tractors with Cummins' engines. 2-110 etc. but none of the 4-series came with the Cummins.
