Tractor is a 1950 Oliver 66 rowcrop. When the engine starts the oil pressure gauge shows some pressure immediately; however, after running a short time - maybe a minute or less - the oil pressure gauge slowly rises and eventually fully pegs to the right. Tractor runs fine. I guess that too much oil pressure is better than not enough, but I"m concerned that this may be indicative of some other problem. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

If its a stock guage that sounds normal. Most of my fleetlines peg the oil guage right after start up. These guages must be like 0 to 20 psi?

It does appear to be the original oil pressure gauge. It"s reassuring to hear that your Fleetlines appear to have the same oil pressure characteristics. Old below has a good suggestion though, I may try another gauge with actual psi pressure graduations just to see what the pressure actually reads when the existing gauge pegs. Thanks for the info!

First off I would try another gauge on it to make sure its not a problem with the gauge. Now if a new gauge does the same thing then you might have a problem with the relief valve in the oil pump, if it has one. I don't know that tractor well but on most engines that is what would cause that type of problem. I know years ago I had a Chev Vega that had that happen and it would blow the oil filter seal in about 30 seconds
