Hello, I am doing routine service on the my 1973 550 today. In my manual it says; "remove the pipe plug at the base of the distributor housing and fill reservoir..... ." It also shows pictures. My distributor does not have a pipe plug at the base. It does not appear to be missing, there is just no place for one. Is it a newer model?? Do I still need to fill the distributor with oil under the weight assembly? It appears to be dry under the weight assembly now. Also, I went to lube my generator cup with 3-4 drops of oil as the manual recommends. However, this too appears to be sealed with no place to add oil. As always, thanks for any information.

Is your distribuor cap held on with two clips or 2 screws?

Your instructions are for the distributors that have the clips. Your manual was printed before that distributor became standard equipment. J.
