70-80 rear wheel hubs

Will a rear hub off a 70 oliver with a spline axle fit a 80 oliver with spline axle, trying to find something different 40 inch rubber getting hard to find 38 inch are more common dont care about being original.

I agree with the others. The axles sizes are different.

No, I do not think they will inter-change.

I think the 70 had 2 1/4" axles and the 80 had 2 1/2" axles.

I know the 70 hubs will fit a 18-27 (fore-runner of the 80), but the larger axles were a "improvement" from the 18-27 to the 80's.

I maybe wrong, and if I am, someone can correct me.

I would agree I have 70 hubs on my 18-27 that I pull with. The 80 has bigger axles unless the low radiator 80 had the same size axle as the 18-27 i'm not realy shure what yours.
