I was wondering which would be more rare.An 1800 gas with Front Wheel Assist or an 1950 with front wheel assist an a Detroit.I alway's thought M.M. made alot of early FWA. tractors. I have run into a few Olivers as of late.Any guesses on how many built of each of these models of Olivers. Thanks

I would think the 1800 gas with a front-wheel assist would be rarer, cause I've never seen one and I'm the Tractor Guru.

The early MM tractors that had the MFWD axles were dealer installed. Oliver tractors used the Clark Mfg. axle. I believe the MFWD tractors were introduced with the 1963 model year as a factory build. There was not a seperate serial number for the MFWD tractors. Oliver started the year with the next serial after the last S/N used the previous year and all tractors built had serial numbers in secquence regardless of model built. That pratice started in the 1950's.

On the comment about which tractor is more rare, Iwould have to say that the 1800 FWA is alittle bit more rare. I do know of one 1800 FWA gas along with a few 1950's. the 1950 could either come with the detroit 3 cylinder or the oliver 310 with a turbo. Ihad a 1950 T that I sold to my father and we still use this tractor on the farm. I hope this has helped you and that you enjoy Oliver tractors as much as I do.
