There is an Oliver 99 coming up in an estate auction near me this weekend. Its an "unstyled" 99, I dont know the serial no. but was told its a 1949. Its not running but is complete, some rust on the hood and fenders and fair tires. What should I expect a tractor like this bring at auction? I'm located near Frederick, MD. Thanks for any information.

Fred, I believe both OC3s at the sale run. The one with the blade runs because it had been used recently around the property to clean up. The other I would say runs too. Both had new batteries in them when I was there last week. Sheetmetal on both in good condition, paint fair. Either machine would be good to restore.

it depends alot on the condition, most i have seen needed new fenders or a good bodyman.

is there any side tin, if not that will set you back $500.

if motor is stuck i wouldn't pay much, some of the parts for that motor are hard to find.

it all depends on how much you, and the other guy bidding want it.

bought one 6 yrs ago paid $1900, didn't run but motor was loose. it needed tires, side tin, fenders need bodywork. so far i've added another $1500 to it and am almost done.

that being said wouldn't spend more than $1200-$1500, hope you can get it for less.

good luck.
