This is a followup to an earlier post regarding changing my loader over to a PTO Pump instead of having it diredctly plumbed to my tractor via "Power Beyond". Before spending the money on a PTO pump, tank, and filter, does anyone know how to check the pressure relief on my Gresen 2 spool control valve? I can"t find the paperwork from when I purchased the unit. All I did was open the box and install it. The loader seems to work fine until I try to lift heavier objects. Westendorf told me that I should check the fluid levels and also to see if my Gresen valve needs a pressure relief adjustment before I buy a PTO pump. Thanks.

First of all do check the pressure. Next thing, most likely you will not see 2000 PSI. Here is why, you now have a system with 2 relief valves the main Oliver relief valve and the Gresen valve. Factory setting on your Oliver valve is 1750 if I remember correctly so it will open before the Gresen valve. Now Gresen also has more than one spring available for the SP valve which is probably what you have, The one spring is set for 1500. Gresen also has different releif valves available for this valve. Confused? J.

get a 3000psi gauge and see at what pressure it opens. 2000 on the valve will lift alot.
