Looking at a 1973 G1355 with 2500 one owner original hours. Has exteral high output engine oil pump, runs real nice, fender fuel tanks, clamp on duals that look new, fronts & rears 80%, always shedded and includes a cab from a G700 (doesn't quite fit all the way around). Everything seems to work and the hydraulic does not get hot. Also no hydraulic leaks to speak of. Tin is straight and paint is pretty good execpt where fuel has spilled on the engine. Price range is 10,500 to 11,000. Is this a fair price for the low hours. Also, how many hours before an overhaul would be needed. Oil pressure was 80lbs at start up and stayed high after it warmed up.

this would be extremely high most sell for 7500 max the oil pressure is a problem something is stopped up the bearings will go out in a very short while or they could be gone and they have stepped up the pressure to keep down a knock we have 2 and have learned a bit about them

I read this twice. Are you talking internal oil filters for the engine? They had the engine oil filters mounted on the oil cooler housing before they came out with the external oil pump kit. I know the part number changed on the filters.I can remember that being explained to us in service school. There were only a handfull of the 585 powered tractors around here so not that much experience with them. Other than that I would need to look in my old service school books. That 2-180 would probably not bring that kind of money around here.

To be fair, I didn't really check the oil pressure after it warmed up and at idle. This guy seems like a straight shooter. He said he changed to the external pump to avoid the internal filters. It also was a high volume pump. He farmed by himself and had a 2-180 4wd that he used more than the G1355, therefore the lower hours. Is this a real issue on this tractor.
