Hi , I got a Oliver 263 disc that I bought without noticing that the leveling crank had been broken and welded above the lower trunnion on the hitch , as a result I can't lower the disc into the ground and level it because the tongue can't be raised . The part isn't available anymore through AGCO . The part # is 238 068-B from the parts book I have . Does anyone have a parts disc or one that's going to be cut up that might still have this part on it in good shape ? One off a early White should work too . A 1-1/4" Acme style shaft with 4 threads per inch might work also . I don't have the length I need right now but I think about 2 feet would work . I'd like to get this thing working correctly and this is the only thing that is really wrong with it . Thanks for any help you all can give me . Take care ...Randy

You could buy a new peice of acme threaded rod from a place like Metals express, or have a machine shop cut the threads on a new shaft. They can grind a tool that fits right into the threads if they"re not a standard acme, but it shouldn"t be much of a problem, as long as you have the female part that the rod would thread into.

Hi Don , I checked into getting a new piece of acme rod but in that size for the 6 foot piece I would have had to buy it wasn't cost effective . I have been keeping an eye out all summer for a short used piece but no luck so far . Not many resoures around here for this type of thing - it's not a tractor Ha - Ha . I haven't checked into a custom threaded rod yet . We have a old metal lathe at work that is supposed to cut threads but I don't know what type of threads and the thing is so loose anyway I don't know if they would turn out . Anyway If Larry in the other post turns out to not have one that will fit the next step is to get one made or cut this one off in the middle and turn the threaded part end for end and reweld it . Thanks for the ideas ! Take care ...Randy

Try checking with a Ford dealer. If I'm not mistaken White made these same disks for Ford back in the 70's. Otherwise the threaded stem of a large valve would probably work if you are near a salvage or pipe yard where you could pick it up for cheap and fab a crank handle to it.

Hey screamin demon , I hadn't thought of that one yet . I thought an old scaffold leveling jack might work but haven't found one the right size . But you're right about the screw on a large valve . I do that type of work in waste water plants ( R & R ) at times . But just last spring we took all the salvage to the dump . I swung out a digester lid for another company on Friday so I might visit with them again and see what they are going to remove and salvage . The lid only weighed about 38,950 lbs but everyone ( engineers ) kept telling me it was supposed to weigh 55,000 or more - oh well no fun there ! Thanks ! Take care ...Randy
