Oliver 1900 3 Cylinder????

Came across an Oliver 1900 with a 3 cylinder
371 Detroit in it. Does anyone know if this
was done by the factory. Was there a conversion
for this or what gives?

Oliver used the 371 motor in the super 99, 990,1900. I own a 990 with the 371 Detroit engine.

sorry they didnt use them in production 1900s.It would be so underpowered it would be a joke of a tractor.The 1900 used 453 at 105 hp.

My guess is the 453 blew up and they just put a 371 in her.

They must of put a 990 or 99 detroit in. Because the 4-53 flywheel housing will not fit on the 3-71 they are different. And a std. 4-71 will not fit in the belly of the 1900 it is too wide

Are you trying to say a 4-71 will not fit were a Waukesha came out or or a 4-71 won't fit were a 4-53 came out? It was my understanding a 4-53 tractor had a wide flange frame. Also a 1950T, powered by a 310 Turbo Waukesha had a narrow flange frame.

A 4-71 will not fit with out using a flywheel housing from a 99, 990, or 995 GM these housings had narrower motor mounts than a standard 71 series fly wheel housing not used in Olivers. The bolt holes won't line up. also the 4-71 is a few inches longer than the 4-53. I'am talking about bolting up with out modfications. I have a friend who done this swap for a pulling tractor.He had to bolt up to stock frame without any mods.
